Epoxy

Epoxy based industrial paints are typically used as they offer good water resistance, high durability, good chemical resistance, excellent resistance to mechanical damage and good adhesion to the substrate. These properties make epoxy based products very popular for application to concrete flooring.

One disadvantage to epoxy based paint is it’s poor resistance to UV light which causes chalking when left exposed externally. This is why epoxies are not generally used as topcoats in metal industrial paint systems and are mostly utilized for their exceptional primer properties.
