Galvanisation is a coating of zinc generally applied at the manufacturing stage to steel or iron. This coating offers sacrificial protection against rust corrosion. As this treatment is sacrificial by nature over time the zinc coating will erode and require over-coating with industrial paints to lengthen the iron or steels useful life. 

The industrial paints offered in this section are designed to offer additional corrosion protection and adhere to this type of surface. As these primers are twin pack formulations your expected maintenance cycle will be increased, offering a significant cost benefit.

Please be aware that these galvanise primers are epoxy based and will chalk if left exposed to UV light. For additional protection and colour stability try one of our topcoats. Further information can be found in our ‘Industrial Paints Guide’.
